The glory of Friday Night Lights doesn’t come without sacrifice, and the student-athletes participating in football at Monte Vista Christian School know this well. Training begins in the early weeks of summer, and players give up a large portion of their schedules and freedom in order to train for the upcoming season. Months of hard work finally comes to fruition on the Mustang Stadium battlefield. One football coach shares, “My favorite time of day is every second I’m on that field. The blood, sweat, and tears every student-athlete sacrifices for Friday Night Lights is not only humbling, but also one of the most rewarding things I could ever hope to be a part of.” Student-athletes come from surrounding communities such as Watsonville, Santa Cruz, Gilroy, Morgan Hill, and San Jose in order to take part in this top athletics program in the Bay Area. This private Christian school also offers middle school athletics programs for students beginning in 6th grade. MVC not only offers football, but soccer, lacrosse, track and field, and more. Student-athletes benefit from the newly renovated turf field and all-weather track, which adds to the charming atmosphere of Mustang Stadium and the beautiful Monte Vista campus. Students at any level of experience are welcome to be a part of this top athletics program in California.
